Transcript: Jesus and the Woman at the Well
[Interest in Others. John 4:6-9]
Presenter: Jesus, tired out as he was from the journey, was sitting at the well.
[He rests on a large rock under a big tree]
It was about the sixth hour.
[He blinks his eyes slowly and breathes deeply]
A woman of Samaria came to draw water.
[She glances at Jesus, then sits her water jug and bucket on the well. Watching her unravel the rope of the bucket, Jesus smiles softly]
Jesus: Give me a drink.
[She slowly turns to face Jesus]
Woman: How is it that you, despite being a Jew, ask me for a drink even though I am a Samaritan woman?
[She leans against the well]
Jesus: If you had known of the free gift…
Presenter: For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.
[He gestures with an outstretched arm]
