Transcript: Animated Series: Lesson 2. Obey Jehovah
[Lesson 2. Obey Jehovah. Caleb skips towards the yellow house with a purple action figure in hand, he jumps the porch steps]
Caleb: Sparlock, attack!
[He springs into the house and circles the living room, Mom looks on]
Oh no, it’s Sparlock!
Mom: Caleb!
Caleb: We need someone to save us!
Mom: Ca-Caleb!
Caleb: Sparlock can! Activate your magic, Sparlock!
Mom: Caleb! Hi. How was school today?
Caleb: Fine. Look at Sparlock’s magic cape!
Mom: Caleb, what toy is that?
Caleb: It’s Sparlock, the Warrior Wizard!
Mom: Whoa! A warrior wizard!
Caleb: Yeah!!! My friend gave it to me! All the kids are going to see the movie! Can I see it too?
Mom: Oh, your friend gave this to you. Hmmmm, you look pretty excited about this. Why don’t you come over here and get your snack, OK?
[At the kitchen table, Caleb sits with his snack and Sparlock. Mom with the book ‘Learn from the Great Teacher’]
Is this toy magical?
Caleb: Uh-huh.
Mom: Caleb, who likes magic, Jehovah or Satan?
Caleb: Satan.
Mom: Right. Magic is bad. That’s why Jehovah hates it. Do you really want to play with something that Jehovah hates?
[Caleb glances at Sparlock the warrior wizard]
Do you remember who we learned about at family worship? Who is this?
Caleb: Adam and Eve.
Mom: Right! Did they obey Jehovah?
Caleb: No, they disobeyed Jehovah, and he got very sad.
Mom: So, what if you disobey Jehovah and play with toys he doesn’t like?
[Caleb looks down and scratches the back of his head]
Do you think Jehovah will be happy or sad?
[He imagines a snake responding to Mom’s questions]
Caleb: Sad.
Mom: Yeah. Do you want Jehovah to be sad?
Caleb: No!
[Hits it away]
I don’t want Jehovah to be sad with me!
Mom: No, I don’t want Jehovah to be sad with you either! So, what do you think you should do with this toy?
[He looks at Sparlock. Now outside, Caleb drops the toy into a big blue garbage can]
Caleb, I am so proud of you! You made Mommy very happy. And you know who else is happy?
Caleb: Jehovah!
Mom: Yes! Jehovah loves you very much for obeying him, Caleb! Hey! You know what I want to do?
Caleb: What?
Mom: I want to go ride bikes!
Caleb: Yea!
Mom: Let’s go!
[Mom turns and jogs away, Caleb follows]
