Transcript: Paul Perseveres in Ephesus

[Text: Perseverance. Acts 19:8-10]
[In a synagogue Paul holds an open scroll while addressing a group]
Presenter: Entering the synagogue, for three months he spoke with boldness,
[Some men nod]
giving talks and reasoning persuasively about the Kingdom of God.
[One man leans forward]
But when some stubbornly refused to believe,
[A man stands and protests]

Man: Enough!

Presenter: speaking injuriously about The Way before the crowd,
[Pursing his lips, Paul rolls up the scroll]
he withdrew from them
[He hands it to an attendant and walks out of the synagogue. Disappointed, one man watches Paul leave. Now in a school auditorium Paul preaches to a group of men and women]
giving talks daily in the school auditorium of Tyrannus.
[He gestures animatedly]
This went on for two years,
[As time passes the number of listeners increases]
so that all those living in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord,
[The disappointed man from the synagogue sits in the front row]
both Jews
[He smiles at Paul]
and Greeks.
[In the audience, women and men with and without beards listen attentively.]
