Why should we pay attention at our meetings?
Transcript: Animated Series: Become Jehovah’s Friend. Lesson 15. Pay Attention at the Meetings
[Become Jehovah’s Friend. Lesson 15. Pay Attention at the Meetings. Deuteronomy 31:12. At night during a meeting at the Kingdom Hall, Sophia yawns and her eyes slowly close before her head flops forward]
Brother: So, we’ll listen together to our first subheading, Spiritual Restoration. Why It Matters. Let’s have the reading of paragraph nine. Consider the historical perspective.
[Caleb swoops a red toy car into the air and dad takes it away. Mom taps Sophia on the shoulder, and she jerks awake]
Christians back in the first century enjoyed many spiritual blessings. But Jesus and the apostles foretold that true worship would be corrupted and lost.
[Driving home in the back seat of the car, Caleb looks nervous and Sophia bites her lip]
Mom: So, kids, what did you learn at the meeting tonight?
Sophia: No sleeping at the meeting.
Caleb: And no playing at the meeting.
Dad: Good! Why should we pay attention at the meetings? Imagine if Noah didn’t pay attention when Jehovah explained how to build the ark.
[Imagines Noah and his relatives playing on a video game, with a butterfly, with toys, and napping. With the animals they rush into the ark. A single raindrop lands on top and wall by wall the ark falls apart. The water rises quickly and the video game floats up saying ‘Game over’]
Caleb: That’s not what happened, Dad!
Dad: You’re right! He paid attention, and it saved his life.
[Noah gives a wink]
Paying attention at the meetings can help save your life!
[Now at the meeting]
Brother: At Genesis 6:22 we read: “And Noah did according to all that God had commanded him. He did just so.”
[Caleb and Sophia take notes. Mom and Dad proudly grin at each other]
