[Lesson 14. Prepare your comment. Proverbs 15:28. On a sunny afternoon, Caleb, Sophia and their parents sit outside at a round lime-green table, covered with Bible’s, notebooks and pens]
Dad: OK, everybody, let’s get ready for the meeting.
Caleb: I really want to comment!
Sophia: Me too!
Dad: OK! What do you want to say?
Caleb: Ah, I don’t know, Dad.
Dad: Well, you could just say anything that comes to mind. Or you can prepare! Which do you prefer? This one . . .
[A slimy blob from a can]
Caleb: Yuck!
Dad: . . . or that one?
[A glowing plate of meat and fresh veggies]
Caleb: I like that!
Dad: Of course! Your mother loves you,
[Mom shops]
so, she puts the work into making you something delicious!
[Then prepares a healthy hot meal]
The same with you! Because you love Jehovah, you want to give him the best! This is why you must prepare your comment.
Caleb: But how?
Dad: First, you must use the good ingredients. Let’s prepare a short comment.
[The Watchtower]
Step 1: What is the question?
[Caleb points]
Step 2: Find the answer in the paragraph.
[Sophia points to the answer]
Step 3: Make some notes.
[Caleb draws a lion]
Step 4: Practice.
[Caleb confidently expresses himself]
Now you are prepared! And, Sophia, you can comment in your own words.
Caleb: But what if they don’t call on me, Dad?
Dad: We will prepare two or three answers, just in case.
Caleb: What if he doesn’t call on me for any of them?
[Caleb imagines stretching his arm high and then dropping his head in defeat]
Ah! I quit!
Dad: No! Don’t quit! Everyone knows you tried your best, you, the brothers,
[Caleb smiles]
and Jehovah!
[Dad sniffs into the air]
Ah, something smells good! Are you ready for dinner?
[They bow their heads to pray]
